Terms of service
Last updated 20 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and True North Analytics (ABN 24 726 502 584), trading as AfterTone. By using AfterTone you agree to them.
The service
AfterTone provides an AI assistant that answers phone calls forwarded to a number we allocate to you, converses with the caller, and sends you a summary. It is provided on a monthly subscription. Building and testing an assistant before subscribing is free.
Your responsibilities
- Set up call forwarding on your own phone. We provide instructions and a check, but the setting is yours.
- Use the service lawfully. Do not use it to deceive callers about the nature of the service, to harass anyone, or in breach of the Telecommunications Act 1997 (Cth) or the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
- Meet any obligations you have to your callers, including any requirement to tell them the call may be recorded.
- Keep the information in your business profile accurate. The assistant repeats what you tell it.
Billing
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required to start the trial and nothing is charged during it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the plan you chose is billed monthly in advance in Australian dollars through Stripe from the day after the trial, starting from $49 a month. We email you three days before the first charge. You can change plan or cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the trial or the current billing period and no refund is given for the remainder. One free trial per customer. Prices may change with 30 days' notice by email.
Phone numbers
The number allocated to your assistant belongs to AfterTone. It cannot be ported, and it is released for reuse 30 days after your subscription ends. Turn forwarding off on your phone when you cancel.
Fair use
Calls are unlimited in number. Each call is limited to a few minutes, which is sufficient to take a detailed message. We may contact you if usage suggests the service is being used for something other than answering a business or personal line.
Availability and limits
We aim for the service to be available at all times but cannot guarantee it. Summaries are generated by AI and may contain errors; check important details before acting on them. To the extent permitted by the Australian Consumer Law, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the fees paid for the month in which a problem occurred.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms and will email you about material changes. We may suspend or end your account for a breach of these terms. You can end your subscription at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
